UKhozi FM’s Zanele Mbokazi Opens Up About Battle with Lung Cancer
In a heartfelt announcement made on UKhozi FM’s breakfast show, Vuka Mzansi, Zanele Mbokazi, the renowned radio personality and Crown Gospel Music Awards founder, revealed her recent diagnosis of lung cancer. Joined by her husband, Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule, and the station’s business manager, Sbongi Ngcobo, the news was shared to address mounting speculation surrounding Zanele’s absence from the airwaves due to her declining health.
Known for her popular gospel show, Eshilo, which airs every Sunday from 09:00 to 12:00, Mbokazi returned to UKhozi FM last year following the departure of S’bu Buthelezi. Nkambule disclosed that Zanele’s health took a turn two weeks ago, leading to her hospitalization on Monday, 29 April. After experiencing respiratory difficulties, she underwent a surgical procedure last Friday, during which doctors discovered the presence of lung cancer.
Amidst the challenging diagnosis, Nkambule emphasized the family’s reliance on faith and requested privacy as they navigate this difficult period.
He expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans and urged continued prayers for Zanele’s recovery. Taking to social media, Zanele expressed her gratitude to her followers, acknowledging the diagnosis as the toughest moment of her life.
