New BBC Documentary Accuses Late Prophet T.B Joshua of Abuse, Torture, Amongst Other Crimes
A recent investigation by the BBC has unearthed evidence of widespread abuse and torture linked to the late founder of one of the world’s largest Christian evangelical churches, the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).
Numerous former members, including five from the UK, have come forward with harrowing allegations of atrocities committed by Nigeria’s late TB Joshua, who passed away in 2021. The reported abuses, spanning nearly two decades within a secretive Lagos compound, include rape, forced abortions, physical violence, and instances of child abuse.
The SCOAN has yet to respond to the allegations, maintaining that previous claims have been baseless. TB Joshua, known for his charismatic preaching and global televangelism success, had amassed a substantial following worldwide.
Key findings from the BBC’s two-year investigation include eyewitness accounts of physical violence, torture, and child abuse reportedly carried out by Joshua. Multiple women allege sexual assault, with some claiming to have endured years of repeated rape within the compound. Shockingly, there are also claims of forced abortions following the alleged rapes, with one woman asserting she underwent five terminations.
Additionally, the investigation revealed firsthand accounts detailing how Joshua allegedly staged “miracle healings” that were broadcast to millions globally. One British victim, known as Rae, shared her experience of spending 12 years as one of Joshua’s “disciples” after abandoning her university degree in 2002.
The revelations raise significant concerns about the conduct within the influential SCOAN, shedding light on a dark chapter in the legacy of TB Joshua and the church he founded.
