Gambia’s Cany Jobe Is Recognised As One Of Africa’s Most Inspirational Female Energy Executives
Cany Jobe, Director of Exploration at The Gambia National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC)–has been named one of 50 Africa’s most inspirational female energy executives.��������ï”font-weight: 400;”>This recognition came after being nominated and selected by the Africa Oil Week and Lean in Energy, leading Jobe to be part of the 2021 Power List.

Jobe, who has worked on energy projects in West Africa, South America, East Asia and Australia over the past 14 years, is ” a dedicated and strategic petroleum engineer with a passion for cleaner and renewable energy”.
Among the projects she worked on includes the investigating of the optimum development strategy for the offshore Browse LNG field in Australia, consisting of four divisions (Reservoir engineering team, Well completions and Engineering team, Facilities team and Economic team).
The mother of two boys holds a B.Sc. in Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering from the National Taipei University of Technology (Taiwan), a Masters in Oil & Gas Engineering from the University of Western Australia (Australia). She also holds an Accredited Masters in International Project Management from the Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland).
Currently working as Director of Exploration at The Gambia National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Cany Jobe is an activist and advocate for diversity and women’s advancement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and energy national and international levels. She is also a public speaker and panelist of women, leadership, energy, regional collaboration and STEM forums, conferences and summits worldwide.
