Amapiano star Babili “Aymos” Shili had a night to remember at the Metro FM Music Awards on Saturday, scooping not one, but two awards!

Shili, who is originally from Thembisa, won both Best Male Artist and Best Music Video for “Izenzo,” his collaboration with Bassie (Basetsana Maluleka).

“I’m so proud,” Shili said. “I can’t wait to get home and celebrate with my community. The fact that I gave them a shout-out means I’m expecting some love in return!”

While he may not have won Song of the Year, Shili expressed his satisfaction with his double win.

Shili wasn’t the only surprised winner at the awards – according to reports, many winners expressed shock at their victories.

In a past interview, Shili revealed his desire to win the Best Music Video award. He said that he enjoys working behind the scenes to create high-quality visuals, and that after retiring from singing, he would like to focus on directing music videos full-time.
