Biography
Dr. Jay Ceesay was born in Banjul the Gambia, West Africa. Early on she was raised by her grandmother in a small village call Bwiam where she attended elementary school. Dr. Jay moved to the USA in 1994. Dr. Jay Ceesay continued her education in Navarro College in Texas and furthered her studies at UTA where she earned her bachelors and master’s in science and family nurse practitioner. She also earned her Doctrine at Chatham University in Pittsburg. Dr. Ceesay has been a health care provider for over 20 years. She worked at several trauma hospitals in the Dallas, Texas area where she was a medical provider for emergency medicine and trauma orthopedic surgery. Dr. Ceesay currently runs her own family practice call Texas Health & Wellness. Her practice focuses on preventative medicine, health awareness and quality of care. Dr. Ceesay does a lot of mentorships with the African communities both in the Diaspora and in Africa. Dr. Ceesay also volunteers her time to various Nonprofit organizations that benefit Africans at home. Dr. Ceesay was married for 9 years and later divorced.
